This citrus & ginger immune booster shot is one of my favourite drinks to help boost the immune system. I find it especially helps when the weather turns cold, when I feel like I’m going to come down with something, or, if I’m not feeling well. It’s a soothing concoction and warms the soul. With flu season coming up and Covid cases currently on the rise, consuming this juice will do wonders. The ingredients in this drink all have a host of healing properties and vitamins & minerals that all aid in a healthy immune system. They also act as powerful antioxidants and promote hydration to name just a few of this juice’s benefits.

This citrus & ginger immune booster shot is super easy to make and uses a few household ingredients you likely already have on hand. Depending on how you enjoy the texture of your drinks, I find that grinding the ginger and garlic to a very fine paste helps with the smooth consistency of this juice. If you like a little something to chew on, you can finely mince the ginger and garlic and stir them in.

What you will need for this citrus & ginger immune booster shot (1 serving):

  • juice of 1 lemon
  • juice of 1 orange (you can also use juice of ½ a grapefruit as a substitute)
  • 1 clove of garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon of fresh ginger, grated
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric
  • dash of black pepper
  • honey to taste

Directions:

    • Add the lemon and orange juices into a glass. In a mortar and pestle, pound the garlic and ginger into a fine paste. Add to the glass, along with the turmeric and pepper. Add honey to your liking. Enjoy!
